Unified Communications

A converged IP network infrastructure solution enables significant operational cost savings and more flexible messaging services and functionality. We have extensive expertise in designing, building and managing secure, converged Cisco networks that enable organisations to improve productivity and reduce support costs. Our expertise in converged networks is best demonstrated by our track record:

  • Swinburne University has one of the largest end-to-end Internet Protocol (IP) telephony networks in the world, with over 18,000 IP endpoints capable of delivering voice, video and data. NetStar has been a trusted partner to Swinburne for over six years.
  • NetStar designed and implemented a full Cisco converged data, voice and video for Australia's largest independent school, Wesley College. This involved 6,000 converged network ports on four campuses and 1,200 IP handsets, plus voicemail, unified messaging, and a Contact Centre.

  • We deployed one of the largest state government converged networks for the City of Melbourne. This system includes 1,200 handsets spread across multiple city sites.

  • NetStar has been a pioneer in IP Telephony and highly active in the field for more than five years. These are just some of our milestones:

    • 1st implementation of IP Telephony for State Government (State Library of Victoria)
    • 1st implementation of IPFX (then Performance Solutions) messaging system on Cisco (State Library of Victoria)
    • 1st Local Government implementation of IP Telephony (Mildura Rural City Council)
    • 1st implementation in the world of IP Telephony on a Pay-TV cable network (Mildura)
    • 1st implementation of hosted CallManagers (Mildura)
    • 1st integration in Australia of Cisco into an Apple environment (MAN Investments)
    • Largest implementation of powered Cisco ports in Australia (Swinburne University, 18,000 ports)

NetStar can provide a complimentary Unified Communications assessment, which takes into account your current infrastructure and business requirements to suggest a strategy around UC and an idea of the cost and financial return.
